SINDICATO JOGADORES PROFISSIONAIS APRESENTA PROJETO INTERNACIONAL.

The meeting was held in collaboration with SJPF (Portugal), who managed the organization and management of the TPM and the MSE2. The agenda items have been defined within the following topics:

 – Welcome Partners Project

 – Briefly description of the work done from partners until end May 2019

 – Discussion WP1 – Project Management

 – Development WP2 – Mentor’s Training Programme (MOOC, Certification, Modules, etc.)

 – Process Mentors-to-Be selections (WP3) – Process Mentees selections (WP5)

 – Preparation WP4: Online Course for Mentors

On the Multiplier Sports Event held by SJPF, were present important former professional football players from , sports cubs representatives, coaches, etc.

Olympic level athletes have been sent to discuss and tell their experiences in the Sports sector and a vision of the Dual Career sector in the national panorama of Portugal, such as: 

– Rui Vieira, Ginásio Clube Português, 52 years old (at the time potential candidate do mentor-to-be), academic background: graduated in physical education

– Pedro Dias, Sport Algés e Dafundo, 37 years old at the time potential candidate do mentor-to-be), olympic athlete, academic background: master student

– Dr. Paulo Reynaud Silva, Professor at Sport Department of the Nova Lisbon University, 47 years old at the time potential candidate do mentor-to-be. 

– Anselmo Cardoso, 35 years old, (former professional, at the time potential candidate to mentor-to-be), academic background: graduated in physical education

– Tó-Zé, 62 years old, former professional player and delegate of the Union

– João Oliveira Pinto, 48 years old, former professional player and delegate of the Union 

– José Carlos (vice-president of the Union), 53 years old, former professional player

Besides that, the former players and delegates of SJPF, used the information obtained in the event to promote YODA project, and to talk in a daily basis with professional players in the country, promoting the project and searching for potentials mentees to be. During the event there were several guests and participants to attend this event, as well and there was a live streaming on the social network facebook.

Esta quinta-feira, o Sindicato de Jogadores Profissionais (SJPF) realizou a apresentação de um novo programa: “European perspectives on Dual Career of Athletes” que decorre no âmbito do projeto YODA Mentors, integrado no Eramus+ da União Europeia.

O projeto com ligações a Espanha, Itália, Letónia e Lituânia, pretende encontrar uma solução para que os atletas consigam conciliar a carreira profissional com a académica. «Pretendemos que quem seja atleta não o deixe de ser para estudar, e que quem estude não deixe de fazer uma carreira profissional», explicou Bruno Avelar Rosa, membro do SJPF.

Pretende-se assim que seja criada a figura do mentor – um ex-treinador, professor universitário ou psicólogo desportivo – que consiga fazer a ligação entre o clube e o atleta – só jogadores pertencentes aos quadros das seleções nacionais dos respetivos países ou que façam parte de projetos olímpicos é que podem fazer parte.

Em Portugal, a fase inicial do projeto estará a cargo dos professores Duarte Lopes e Víctor Lopes, em parceria com o SJPF. Sendo que para o próximo ano apenas estarão presentes quatro mentores (dos vários países) e 16 atletas naquele que será o ano piloto.
